I indicate here the components of a rejuvenation program. Please complete it as I have a particular interest in this treatment:
1. Abhyanga is an authentic Ayurvedic body massage. It is very good for health, it stimulates the nerves system, and it maintains the elasticity of the muscle fibres and rejuvenates the whole body.
2. Udwarthana is a massage done with herbal powders. This is a deep tissue massage, anti cellulite, and exfoliating massage too. Usually done by two therapists.
3. Kayaseka (Pizhichil) is a treatment done by two or four therapists with four litres of medicated oil being poured over the body and at the same time massaged gently.
4. Shiro dhara is pouring medicated oils over the forehead i.e., the third eye and relaxes all the tensions of the mind and the body.
5. Shashtika shali pinda sweda (Navara kizhi) is a treatment where a special rice which is grown in 60 days is cooked in special herbal decoctions and then heated in boiling milk and massaged over the body by two or four therapists.
6. Akshi tarpana is a special treatment for the eyes which not only improves the eyesight but also cures many of the eye disorders.
7. Akshi dhara is a special treatment where herbal preparations are poured in a stream into the eyes and rinsed which improves the eye sight and takes care of the eye infections.
8. Shiro basti is a procedure where a crown is made of leather or other materials and this crown is then filled with Luke warm medicated preparations for at least 45 minutes.
9. Nasya is a nasal treatment which cleans all the sinuses of the head and clears most of the disorders of the parts above the neck.
10. Pinda swedas are massages done with bags of herbs specially prepared according to the necessities of the person and is a very good pain killer and rejuvenator of the joints of the body.
11. Body packs are done by the combination of different kinds of mud, herbs, salts, flowers and oils.
12. Body scrubs are done by herbs, dry fruits, flowers and essential oils to give the body a great glow.
13. Sarvanga ksheeradhara is the most exotic of Ayurvedic treatments where pure cow’s milk which is lukewarm is poured from special vessels over the whole body followed by a gentle massage.
14. Facial treatments are done through an Ayurvedic facial and followed by a herbal face pack.
15. Hair treatments are done through a wonderful head massage with the best of the Ayurvedic oils and followed by a herbal head pack, which rejuvenates the hairs, stops hair fall, removes dandruff, and gives the hair a healthy shine and bounce.
