Dear Bambi, thank you very much for mentionning this brand. I had a look on their website but unfortunately at the moment they don't deliver in the USA... Do you have any other brand to advice me? where do you practice ayurveda? in Europe? Is it as developped as here?
Thanks for your help

Hi Ben,
I'm also interested in Fair Trade ayurveda products and the only one I found is OM SHANTI.
Unfortunately, I can't see any guarantees / label in their web but here is what they says:

Where ever possible, Om Shanti endeavours to source goods from Fair trade suppliers. Our clothing is sourced from a company who purchases from various primary producers, large and small. Their fair trade ethos is explained in detail here.

From the point of view of the workers there are advantages to both, for example a large company is able to offer a secure job, and many more benefits such as free healthcare for the worker and their family and free education.

They are also able to support community projects. One of our suppliers in India gives funding to 2 beautiful schools set in a remote village in Rajasthan, another in Nepal supports an orphanage providing amongst other-things, a water tank, food and blankets.

Their suppliers ensure that their workers are paid a fair price per piece, which is above the national average, and men and women are paid the same rate. The Nepalese supplier gives his workers grants for festivals, clothes to wear for work and holiday pay.
Being a larger supplier also gives some companies the opportunity to contract out work to smaller artisan groups, who UK companies would find it difficult to give work to without using the contact of the larger company.

In developing markets, such as Nepal, Indonesia and Thailand, they deal with only primary producers. Many do not have the Capital to be able to fulfil the order; so they make an advance payment for materials, workers and whatever else is necessary.

In 2002 they provided their Nepalese clothing supplier with a large advance for him to buy land, machinery and the building for a new cotton knitting workshop. These advance payments have enabled him to survive despite bad debt problems with other Western customers.

The clothing products all use azo-free dyes. These create a safer working environment and are better for the environment in general. Many of the products are made entirely from recycled materials, which are used wherever possible.

It is always a safe bet to begin your menu with Vitamin C and Glycolic Peels. Doctors advocate these treatments due to their efficacy and proven results. Vitamin C and Glycolic Peels can be parlayed into both face and body treatments. A full body Glycolic peel followed by an Anti-Oxidant body mask is a sure hit at a Medical Spa. A creative treatment menu can be both luxurious and medically sound.

Coverage for both General and Professional Liability differ from state to state and need much research prior to opening. Depending on the services offered the Spa could be an extension of the Doctors practice or its own entity, each having its own method of protection. The owner of a Medical Spa has two choices, the Doctors practice and the Spa can be covered under one medical malpractice policy or they can separate themselves and be covered by two policies, a malpractice and a basic spa/salon policy.
