Postby madison » Fri Apr 03, 2009 9:36 am

Hi, I'm looking for a good resort especialized in ayurveda in Thailand. Preferably a nice upmarket place with proper treatments and doctors.
Also any reviews/critics of any similar ayurvedic retreats welcome.

This ayurveda centre is in Chang Mai

What they say (themselves):

The Chiang Mai Ayurvedic Center has been providing balancing and detox treatments in Chiang Mai since 1999. We offer a unique combination of Ayurvedic wisdom combined with modern technology designed to gently detox and cleanse harmful toxins from the body.

Our reputation for professional, affordable and caring treatments has steadily grown throughout Thailand and around the world since we opened, with the majority of our customers returning to us year after year for an annual balancing and detox program.

While all of us enjoy being pampered, pampering alone will not make any long-lasting positive impact on our health. Our combination of ancient Ayurvedic treatments with modern world-class technology is designed to make a safe and vital difference to your health and well-being. You can expect noticeable improvements in your health after a visit to our Center.

Hello, I went to Chang Mai last year and never heard of the retreat you are mentionning. Maybe it is still a project?
I spent 2 weeks in a very nice institute, doing various relaxation therapies including ayurveda treatments.

Tao Garden Health Spa & Resort is now pleased to offer authentic Ayurvedic services supervised by a qualified Ayurvedic physician.

Ayurveda soothes the senses, eases aches and cleanses all the cells. Originating in India five thousand years ago, Ayurveda is a complete holistic health science in great demand world-wide. Ayurveda’s multi-modality approach tailors a therapeutic programme according to each individual’s elemental imbalance. After a health assessment the Ayurvedic doctor will advise the best diet, herbs, body therapies, exercise and cleansing regimes to undertake. These may include the deeply relaxing abhyanga massage utilising herbalised oils, stress- relieving shirodhara or regenerating pinda-sveda. Purifying panchakarma practices such as herbal enema or nasal oil nasya may also be prescribed. Ayurveda’s aim is to initiate a smooth journey towards harmony and self- awareness.
