Music for meditation

Postby william » Fri Apr 03, 2009 11:20 am

Hello, my name is William, I've been doing 1 hour meditation at home 4 to 5 times a week. I have a big road next to my window with a lot of noise. My solution? put some chill out music during my sessions. But I am running out of good music and looking for recommendations.
Any people in a similar asana ;) ?

That should help you to reach the sky....

A Different Kind of Record Label

As a record label, we have been blessed to find artists with pure authenticity and a deeply spiritual connection with their music. This allows us to share music with the world that not only comes from exceptional talent, but also has pure intention and a deep and abiding connection to the spirit.

We are blessed to work with artists that represent a spiritual integrity, not just in their music, but in their actions and their projection. Whatever spiritual path their music is born from, it represents their inner core. The music is a manifestation of a deep spiritual practice.

Spirit Voyage Records was founded to serve as a tribute to the work that Yogi Bhajan has done on the planet.

GuruGanesha Singh, the father of Spirit Voyage, had been signed to a mainstream record label in his youth. This experience ignited in him the desire to make a different kind of record label, one founded on the Aquarian model of business with the belief that every business arrangement has a balance point that is good for all people involved. He believed that putting this core value at the heart of a business would radiate prosperity in all directions from the inside out. When every deal is made with the intention that all people involved win – the artists, the public, the label, true prosperity can exist. GuruGanesha Singh, who is not only an amazing musician and executive, but also runs an extremely successful technology sales training business, believed that making money and becoming successful were a manifestation of being true to a core intention to help others, and for Spirit Voyage that is to serve through the spread of authentically healing sound current.

And the model has worked. With the intention of providing a space where artists can be true to their essence, we have built a successful record label able to continue to produce sacred music that is reaching ever-widening audiences around the globe.

It's great to know that you have been meditating for about 4 to 5 times a week. There are different types of meditation and most importantly you can have it at any time, the thing that should be taken care is that you should be able have your undivided concentration centred to it. Try meditating at different time probably the night or the early morning as that tends to be a quiet time. The music while meditating is a very good thought on your part as the soothing music would just help you have a peaceful mind and better results. Keep up the good going.

I think that music can be a valuable aid to meditation. Music can drown out any background noises, but also the right music can inspire us. There are some of my favourite music that I use for meditation, and that what I like, I hope that many people also like Indian music for meditation, because Indian music influences us directly through the sound tones.

Meditation is not just a set of exercises but a system of personal development, which helps you reach a union of the body, mind and spirit. Many time there is some disturbance due to that we can't able to do meditation properly for that we can use a soft music due to that we can concentrate on meditation and feel relax.

Music for meditation

Meditation music includes music played with or listened to during meditation, music the performance of which is a meditation, or music which is meditative. Music may distract from or enhance meditation, and meditation may involve music making.

Music has a healing touch, it is said that when man didn't know how to speak, the message was conveyed through music. Music indeed has a healing touch and the power to have a good impact on the brain as this is indeed something that would be a very good importance to many to induce motivation and self-confidence in a person.

Yoga meditation music or yoga relaxation music can be very good as background music for yoga, particularly for beginner yoga practitioners. Yoga music helps relax the mind and prevents it from getting distracted. Special yoga CDs will help bring the mental and spiritual benefits associated with yoga, as well as the physical benefits. Yoga music can also be used as background music for other tasks. Used in this way, they help keep the mind relaxed and focused during the day.
Types of Yoga Music
Many different types of music can be used for yoga workouts. Music for yoga should be relaxing, slow and relatively simple. Slow music for yoga can include:

* Special yoga CDs;
* World music;
* American flute music;
* Meditation music;
* Classic music;
* Nature relaxation CDs;
* Celtic music.

Music that is designed for use in yoga is usually best, as this music will specifically aim at providing the right background for a yoga workout. However, you can also try other music that is not aimed at yoga if you believe it would be good in a yoga workout. You should choose music that you enjoy, but not something that you enjoy so much that it will take your mind off your yoga workout. Stay away from music you dislike, as this will not be relaxing for you.

Thanks........
