hi im a male 45 yrs .have developed occasional knee pain both knees essentially because of overuse during my military career.x ray shows some spiking in the bone surfaces but the gaps are normal.what yoga can i do to get over this problem.i am regular with anulom vilom and sometimes kapalbhati.im within the authorised weight(77 KG for 5 ft 11 in)

I would highly recommend yoga or at least regular stretching whether or not you're about to do a sporting activity. I wished I'd tried it when I was younger as since I've been practising it (weekly for last 10 years) it has definitely made a difference to my joints and how well my body recovers after sport (I play netball regularly and have done since I was at school - I'm now 43) - particularly a reduction in the swelling of the knee after playing a netball match. I was told by a physio to take anti-inflammatory tablets, e.g. Ibuprofen to reduce any swelling and also ice the affected area. I think also it's good to being doing a variety of sports - especially when you're young - to avoid working the same muscle groups all the time.

I agree with the chiropractor in that the problem did not necessarily start in the knee but is probably due to some misalignment elsewhere. I had implants for my shoes at one stage which helped for a while. Personally, I have never found knee supports to be that useful and I think that you come to rely on them and then the leg muscles aren't doing their job any more.

Women are largely pedantic when it comes to what they use. We generally do not fight what is not expected, would be constantly updated trends. And this trend is unlikely to move every year, so do not mix with the clothes that women buy.
